Canadian born, Robert Lougheed studied at the Ecole des Beauz Arts in Montreal, and the Art students League in New York. For over 30 years, Lougheed contributed western theme works for magazines such as National Geographic and Readers Digest. Lougheed was committed to classical interpretation of the landscape, and he rejected the modernist influences of his era. His works mirror his respect and encyclopedic knowledge of his primary love, the southwest American Landscape.
